MASSAGE THERAPY

A comprehensive training program

The Chicago College of Healing Arts is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCTMB) as a continuing education Approved Provider.

The Chicago College of Healing Arts Massage Therapy Training Program offers a comprehensive training in massage designed to produce highly skilled practitioners capable of interfacing with mainstream doctors and chiropractors. We blend a solid grounding in Anatomy and Physiology with a sophisticated training in body mechanics, postural and movement training; layer on adjunctive techniques such as pregnancy massage, infant massage and reflexology, and round the process out by studying the relationship of the body and mind through the lens of Mind/Body Issues in Treatment. It is our goal to produce massage therapists who are fully prepared to enter the field of massage therapy with a wider range of skills and techniques than is typical. We are committed to producing individuals who can make a difference in the lives of those they treat, and who are committed to becoming life-long learners of the healing arts. Like all of our programs, the Massage Therapy Training blends the physical, emotional and spiritual together, to produce cutting-edge practitioners who are also well-rounded healers. The program takes place over 12 months and includes 500 hours of direct contact hours and an additional 60 hours of independent practicum, for a total program length of 560 hours. We keep our classes small, and during work sessions maintain a student teacher ratio of not more than five students per instructor. Students will graduate qualified to meet national standards as Massage therapists.
